Peace
Yoko Ono informed me today, via the internet, that it is/was international peace day. I’m not really sure what that means, but she also mentioned the Imagine Peace Tower, which was dedicated to John Lennon in 2007 and is located on Viðey Island near Reykjavík. It shines every year from October 9 (Lennon’s birthday) until December 8 (the day he was shot), on New Year’s Eve and for one week in the spring. The light shines from a large monument, which has the words “Imagine Peace” inscribed in 24 languages.
Buried under the tower are 500,000 written wishes.
